Prior to coming to Ehrhart, I taught in the Beaumont Independent School District.

Family Information:

I am married to David Starnes, a local attorney, who recently served as President of the Jefferson County Bar Association. More than anything, I love to sing! Since childhood, music has always been a huge part of my life, and at the age of fourteen, I began singing professionally. Over the years,  I have been blessed to perform as a soloist for many church, civic, and private events in the area, including The Symphony of Southeast Texas Home for the Holidays Concert as a guest artist.

I’m an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, Jefferson County Bar Association, Sons & Daughters of Italy in America, and serve as a founding Board Member for the Italians of Southeast Texas.

Accelerated Reader Information

Dear Parent,

This year your child will participate in the Accelerated Reading Program. National statistics prove that participation in an AR program will help your student become a better reader by building fluency, stamina and comprehension. It is my hope that every student will increase their reading level by the end of the school year.

Please note that AR is counted as a test grade, so please familiarize yourself with my procedures explained below:

At the beginning of each grading period, your child will receive a new AR Reading Log, which will be kept in the students’ binder. Each Friday, I check Reading Logs for entries and parent signatures. Each student is given an update on their progress so they know how many points they have earned and how many points they need in order to meet their personal goal by the end of the grading period.

Please make sure that your child is reading at least 30 minutes every night. Monitor and sign the Reading Log at least once a week to ensure that your child is making progress.

I look forward to partnering with you to help your child become a successful student this school year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
